As part of the new South Morang Rail Extension project, the upgraded stations at Thomastown and Epping will start taking passengers on November 28.

The project includes a duplication of the 5km of single track between Keon Park and Epping and a 3.5km double track extension from Epping to South Morang.  Work began on the track duplication between Keon Park and Epping in August 2010.

The upgraded stations at Thomastown and Epping will be staffed from first train to last.  The last grade separation for the new rail line – the Civic Drive overpass – has been completed.

The South Morang Train Station, which is only 800 meters from GPC’s Mason Point project is ahead of schedule and now due for completion mid-2012.
