The suburb of Craigieburn, part of Melbourne’s rapidly expanding northern corridor, has been identified as one of the 26 Australian suburbs tipped to shape the residential market over the next decade.

According to magazine, ‘Australian Property Investor, January 2010′, the extreme population growth occurring in Craigieburn will continue to drive demand for housing and see it become one of Melbourne’s growth hotspots. The report acknowledges that those areas experiencing the strongest population growth will too benefit from the highest housing price growth.

Craigieburn is located just south of Merrifield on Melbourne’s northern metropolitan fringe, a corridor which will continue to prosper from well planned infrastructure that will deliver the transport, town centres, schools, health and educational facilities required to service the increasing population.

The significant population growth throughout Melbourne’s north provides a boost for the local economy as well as immediate access to a ready and growing labour force for the Merrifield business and employment precinct.

An integral part of the Merrifield vision is to deliver jobs close to where people live. The initial focus for the project is to create a solid business base within the region that will assist in addressing a growing demand for services and an increased labour market. The early planning and investment in infrastructure at Merrifield provides that employment base needed to support the population growth throughout Craigieburn and Melbourne’s north.

Melbourne’s north is considered one of Australia’s fastest growing corridors and upon completion, Merrifield is set to provide the area with up to 30,000 new jobs and a residential population of up to 30,000 people.
