Whittlesea Council is scheduled to upgrade the playground and surrounding landscape features at Mimosa Park, Mill Park this year.
The park upgrade includes: replacement of sand paths to concrete; new playground with all abilities access; new shelter, picnic settings, BBQ and wheelchair accessible drinking fountain within a consolidated activity area; mulch and native understory planting to embellish the existing River Red Gum; additional garden beds with trees around new playground to provide shade; additional buffer planting along fence lines to provide screening; improved drainage around shelter and playground and additional reserve trees along park entry paths.
The park upgrade also includes provision to improve the basketball facilities at Mimosa Park to a half-court basketball court.
It is seeking community comment on the basketball facilities by April 4.
