The Gibson name has been synonymous with property in Melbourne since 1882 when Alfred E. Gibson opened a real estate business in the northern suburbs.

Upon leaving A.E Gibson & Co in 1972, John followed in the family footsteps and opened his own company – Gibson Property Corporation.

GPC is a leading property development company known for delivering high quality, residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. A company with vision, capability and experience to develop greenfield & infill sites through every stage of planning, construction and sales.

The company has now embarked on our largest and most visionary development to date, Merrifield – a new 24-hour city for Melbourne, a joint venture with MAB Corporation.

GPC’s current activities being undertaken are new mixed-use developments in South Morang’s Activity Centre.

Key People

JOHN GIBSON

Upon leaving A.E. Gibson and Co, John established his own property development company – Gibson Property Corporation (GPC) in 1972. His first major project, a joint venture with Costain Australia was the development of 100 acres of land abutting Melbourne Airport, Tullamarine, into what is known today as the International Trade Park.

Throughout the 1980′s and 1990′s John undertook a wide range of development projects across Melbourne’s north. These included land subdivisions for residential and commercial developments and the construction of office buildings, luxury homes and warehouses. In 1993, John began an on-going partnership with Michael & Andrew Buxton’s MAB Corporation which has led to their current development, Merrifield – Victoria’s largest, fully master planned and integrated 24-hour city to be established on a 900 hectare site in Mickleham, north of Melbourne CBD.
